This model is based on one of the known survivors of 500 wagons built by Atkinson between 1916 and 1929. This 'colonnial' wagon was exported to Australia in 1918 and was in use up to the end of 1945 when it was abandoned in the bush. It was brought to England in 1976 where it was restored to its former glory. The Atkinosn was powered by its vertical voiler which supplies steam at 200 lbs/sq in. An underfloor twin cylinder uniflow engine developed 60 h.p. at 100 r.p.m.'s its top speed is 12 m.p.h. (20 k.p.h.). |
The (Y18-2) 1918 Atkinson Model D Steam Wagon joined the range in 1985. It was released as a Limited Edition in the green livery of the Australian company 'Lake Goldsmith' Sand & Gravel Pty Ltd.
